1964 Danelectro Convertible Hardtop
A classic, vintage Danelectro, this 1964 Convertible Hardtop was sold as an acoustic model from the factory with the necessary routes to convert the guitar to electric if desired, thus the Convertible moniker. Due to the lack of electronics, this Convertible has a wonderfully light and airy tone to it that lends itself well to folk and country styles of play. Of course, you could choose to add vintage or modern electronics if desired, making this a fun and unique project guitar.
As a player, this Convertible feels great with a slim C neck profile, rosewood fingerboard, and slim body for a lightweight and easy-playing experience. Tonally, this guitar leans more towards the treble end and has an almost banjo-like quality with fantastic resonance. All original, this guitar comes with a period correct chipboard case.
