1924 Gibson L-3

For your consideration, Garrett Park Music presents this 1924 Gibson L-3 archtop acoustic guitar.

Among the last of the guitars Lloyd Loar era, this 1924 Gibson L3 is in very good shape with a replaced bridge, some minor play wear on the top and back of the guitar, and some minor sinking of the top, but is otherwise free of breaks or repairs and plays great! This L3 is a highly specialized transition-era instrument that bridges late-19th-century classical aesthetics with modern steel-string tone. Measuring 13.5 inches across the lower bout, this model represents Gibson’s premier small-bodied carved-top instrument before the company shifted to f-hole acoustic guitars.

This Gibson has an old school tone with articulate trebles and smooth bass. It also boasts great clarity and projection thanks to the arched body. The neck is a very thick V shape that is quite enjoyable to play and is easy to get around despite its heft. This century old, pre-war guitar has been well cared for with no signs of cracks or major repairs and includes its original hardshell case which is missing its handle & has a few scratches on top but is otherwise in great shape with the original case key.
