1979 Ovation 1627 Glen Campbell

For your consideration, Garrett Park Music presents this 1979 Ovation 1627 Glen Campbell Acoustic Electric Guitar.

Glen Campbell's signature electric acoustic guitar, the Ovation 1627 is based around the design of Ovation's Custom Balladeer and features a slim, soft-V shaped neck profile topped with an ebony fingerboard which meets the spruce topped body at the 14th fret. The pickup features a simple concentric control with the top knob controlling volume and the bottom knob controlling the treble/bass balance. Fans of Campbell will recognize the tone of this guitar from hits like Rhinestone Cowboy and Gentle on My Mind.

This 1979 Ovation 1627 is in very good shape with some minor wear on the top of the guitar as well as a small nick on the neck. There is a slight downward hump in the neck where it meets the body but the guitar still plays great and has nice, low, even action across the neck. Finally, the original volume knob cracked off at one point and was replaced, but is still present in the guitar's case. This 1627 is otherwise in superb shape with a strong fundamental tone that plays well dynamically whether you're digging in or softly strumming. The pickup does a great job of amplifying the guitar thanks to the tone control that can darken or brighten the tone depending on your environment, backline, or mix. Weighing in at 5lb 3oz, this Ovation 1627 is sure to be a comfortable and enjoyable playing experience and comes with its original hardshell case, owner's manual, and hangtag.
