Hailing from El Cajon, CA, this 2003 Taylor 314-CE-L4 is in very good shape with some minor play wear and a nearly invisible crack repair by the control knobs, but is otherwise free of breaks or repairs. A limited-edition variant of Taylor's popular 300 Series Grand Auditorium, this guitar is Taylor's classic 314 cutaway model, with the L4 moniker signifying this guitar as one of the first Taylor guitars to feature their proprietary expression system. It boasts a solid sitka spruce top and solid sapele back and sides, while the slim-oval neck is tropical mahogany with an ebony fingerboard which gives the guitar a bright, articulate, and balanced tone with a punchy midrange. As a player, this 314 is superb with smooth playability and a tone that rivals similar models with superb bass and treble response, and is versatile enough to handle most genres and styles of play with ease. In an ironic twist, this Taylor comes with a non-original Martin hardshell case.
