1987 Squier Standard Stratocaster MIJ

For your consideration, Garrett Park Music presents this 1987 Squier Standard Stratocaster MIJ.

Coming off a period of decreased sales through the 1970s, Fender decided to add a line of import guitars made in Japan in order to boost sales for new guitarists or folks that couldn't afford the USA build prices. Upon being given the license to Fender's designs, the Japanese factories started producing some of the best quality guitars Fender had seen in over a decade, providing the inspiration for what would become the Custom Shop and cementing these guitars in history.

This 1987 Squier Standard Stratocaster is in very good shape with some minor play wear and comes to us from the very end of Squier's MIJ era; it definitely fits the bill with a beautifully sculpted neck and body based on the original 1950s Stratocasters. All original save for the period-correct 50s tremolo arm, this Stratocaster punches well above its class. The trio of single coil pickups offer classic tonality that's kept these guitars so popular through the decades while the vintage accents (single-ply pickguard & aged plastic) give this guitar a more refined look than its modern peers. As a player, this Squier feels excellent both in terms of build quality and playability.  Includes a modern Fender gigbag, period-correct 50s tremolo arm, and Ernie Ball strap.
