1979 Hondo II Pro H-1018

For your consideration, Garrett Park Music presents this 1979 Hondo II Pro H-1018.

Part of Samick's attempt to capture the quality of the higher-end guitar market in order to boost their Hondo brand, the Professional series ran from 1979-1983 with early models like this sporting the Hondo II script logo before moving to the sunrise logo in 1981. This '79 H-1018 is in great shape for a nearly 50-year-old guitar with excellent playability and true vintage tone. The neck has been shimmed as the TOM bridge is almost as low as it will go and the wiring was recently touched up, but the guitar is otherwise quirk-free with some minor play wear. The bolt-on neck has a fantastic medium C carve and is topped with an unbound rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlays, imparting classic looks and playability. The dual humbucking pickups are uncovered for raw sonic output and each pickup has its own controls for volume and tone in addition to a master 3-way pickup selector and 2-way toggle switch to split the pickups for more of a single-coil tone. The thin-satin finish gives the guitar a nice open-grain texture over its solid mahogany body, with a svelte overall weight of 7lb 4oz. A superb player with just the right amount of vintage mojo, this Hondo II Pro is sure to please.
