1998 Fender Big Apple Stratocaster
For your consideration, Garrett Park Music presents this 1998 Fender Big Apple Stratocaster in Candy Apple Red.
Built late in 1997 and having left the factory in early 1998, this early Big Apple Strat is in great shape with a few minor modifications. Most notably, the pickup configuration was changed to SSS from HH with a replaced volume knob and no additional routing thanks to the body having the earlier swimming pool rout from the factory. Pickups consist of a pair of Fender American Standard single coils in the neck & middle, and a Seymour Duncan humbucking rail pickup in the bridge for hotter output. Wired for classic 5-way with no tone control in the 5th position. The guitar has typical wear for a nearly 30 year old guitar with a few minor nicks on the body and a slight crack in the pickguard by the neck pickup, but is otherwise free of any breaks or major repairs and plays wonderfully.
The neck profile is Fender's classic C shape with all-maple contruction and will be immediately comfortable to most players. The alder body gives the guitar excellent sustain and resonance with a typical weight for these Strats at 8lb 2oz for a very powerful overall tone while still being surprisingly nimble. The trio of pickups offers classic Fender single-coil tonality in the first 3 positions with a bit more bite in the 4th and 5th positions thanks to the Duncan rail humbucker which gives this guitar a wide-ranging voice that can tackle almost any genre. Includes a period correct hardshell case.
